Employer Matching Gifts

Many employers will match their employees' charitable donations, dollar for dollar. Check with your employer's human resources department to see if any programs are in place—your donations could be going twice as far.

Kern Audubon Society protects important habitat, advocates for conservation, educates underprivileged youth, and connects our local community with birds and nature through public programs. We need your help to continue on this mission! By supporting Kern Audubon, you will be providing funding for: conservation projects, educational science camps, informative programs at monthly meetings, habitat restoration/protection, and birding field trips for all.

Planned Giving

By leaving a gift to Kern Audubon, you can help protect birds in Kern County for generations to come. It can be as simple as mentioning us in your living trust or will, or designating us as partial, contingent, or sole beneficiary of certain assets. Here are some options:

Bequest – naming Kern Audubon in your will or trust. This is one of the easiest gifts to make, and it is a revocable gift, meaning it can be changed or modified at any time.
Retirement Plan – designating Kern Audubon as a beneficiary (percentage of your choice) on one of your retirement plans or IRAs
Charitable Remainder Trust – establishing a trust during or after your lifetime that provides income to the beneficiary of your choice (may be yourself), and the remaining value of the trust to Kern Audubon
Life Insurance – naming Kern Audubon as a beneficiary on a life insurance policy
Life Estate with Remainder Interest – gifting future interest in an asset (e.g. a home) to Kern Audubon, while retaining the right to use it for your lifetime

“I [name], of [city, state, ZIP], give, devise and bequeath to the Kern Audubon Society [written amount in dollars, or percentage of the estate, or description of property] for its unrestricted use and purpose.”
