Birding at La Paz

Kern Audubon Society Tehachapi Outing

Saturday, September 14, 2024, 7:45 AM

Connect to the beauty, nature, and story of La Nuestra Senora Reina de La Paz National Historic Landmark and Cesar E. Chavez National Monument through recreating in a new way - Birding!

Birding is a great way to slow down and focus your attention on what is flying all around you at your local national park! Did you know that this special place is a hot spot for birding?!?

In partnership with Kern Audubon Society and National Chavez Center, we invite all birders, either experienced or birding for the first time, to come join us for a morning of bird watching. Experienced birders will lead this walk and help us identify the birds we get to see. NPS staff will also be available to provide information about the history of this special place.

We will have a few pairs of binoculars available to borrow for those that don’t have their own set. Please bring your own set if you are able.

Agenda

  • 7:45-8am: arrival and check-in
  • 8am-9am: bird watching round the National Monument grounds.
  • 9:30am-10:30am: bird watching around the surrounding La Paz National Historic Landmark grounds.
