Partner agencies include Southern Sierra Research Station who have placed satellite and MOTUS tags on Yellow-billed Cuckoos and other species to track their seasonal movements.

The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers and their restoration contractor Tierradata are in the final year of an 85-acre native plant restoration planting and we are looking into another 12 acre planting.

Ducks Unlimited is finalizing permitting and is preparing to install enhancements on our Cottonwood Ditch so that we can continue to exercise Audubon’s +100 year old water rights to benefit wildlife like Tricolored Blackbirds.

Also collaboration with the Kern River Valley Heritage Foundation on native habitat planting and pedestrian walkway at their Hot Springs Valley Wetland Preserve and installation of Burrowing Owl houses and habitat enhancements at the Hanning Flat Preserve. Both of these new Preserves were acquired with help of Kern County Audubon Chapters and Audubon California through our Wimberley Grants.
